Color correcting the artworks for Fine Edition Printing.

After the high resolution capture, the next important step is paintstaking color correction.  Multiple wet proofs are pulled to hone in on the subtleties of variation in the original artworks- the files we are working with are so enormous that even the fibres of the canvas are visible.

When Clive saw how incredible we were able to make facsimiles, he was THRILLED!  Pleasing an artist with an attention to detail like Clive is the world’s best reward and makes the late and long hours completely worth it.

Setting up the photo lab with Transmission Atelier

The first step of the process is bringing a high-resolution scanback camera to Clive’s studio and lighting the artworks.  A Rodenstock lens and a digital focusing system make sure that we have the crispest possible detail.
